Stockpiling : Mrs Penny Pincher Kentucky Coupons & Deals

The real key to successfully start saving money is stockpiling. Since I just started saving in January, I don't have a huge stockpile to brag about. However, the bit that I do have is growing weekly.



Stockpiling basically means buying multiples of an item when it is at its lowest price. For example, about a month ago, Kroger had a really good deal on Ragu spaghetti sauce. I bought 20 coupons off of eBay for $2.00. The coupons were $0.50 off 2 jars. Kroger doubled those coupons to $1.00 off. I bought about a dozen jars of sauce for $0.78 each. My family will eat on these for the next several months. They won't go bad in the meantime. Best of all, I won't be paying $1.50 to $2.00 a jar for Ragu for the next several months!

I've got a good stash of personal care items started too. I get most of them really cheap, or FREE combining sales with coupons.

Now, as my piles grow, if I find a great deal on something, and I already have enough stashed away for my family of that item, I donate it. There are many in need out there, and if I can continue to get things like personal care items for $0.50 or less or FREE, then it's silly of me to throw out a coupon.

FREE Johnson's Buddies Soap : Mrs Penny Pincher

Johnson's & Johnson's makes soap for kids called Johnson's Buddies. They are in an orange package, and they are sold among the rest of the baby wash/care section.

At Walmart and Target, they sell for $0.97. At Kroger, they are $1.09. Usually you can find links online to print off $1.00, $2.00, or $3.00 off coupons on ANY Johnson's brand products. That means, you can use those coupons for free ($0.03 money making) soap at Walmart or Target, or $0.09 soap at Kroger.

I've got a big stockpile of these things, and my kid loves them!

Meijer BeechNut Sale : Mrs Penny Pincher Kentucky Coupons & Deals

I've already donated quite a bit of BeechNut baby food I got really cheap to my church for the children's home they will be visiting next month. Yesterday, I stocked up on some more to give. I'll still make another trip this week to get another load.

Meijer has BeechNut baby food on sale this week. Stage 2 is on sale 10 for $4.00. I have a coupon for a $1.00 off. $0.30 a piece for Stage 2 jars is not bad at all! I've also gotten BeechNut cereal BOGO Free with coupons.

I made my baby a stockpile of BeechNut Stage 2 jars from last month's sale, but I think I might do all homemade baby food. Just made my first batch of sweet potatoes this morning. They smelled yummy!

Another tip for saving money on baby food, instead of buying the applesauce put out in the baby-sized jars, buy a big jar of natural, unsweetened applesauce. It's the same stuff!! You pay about $0.50 a jar for the baby applesauce, or less than $2.00 for a family-sized jar!

Pampers Points : Mrs Penny Pincher

If you have kids in diapers (like myself), use Pampers diapers, and don't feel like just cleaning up your little angels' blowouts are rewarding enough, there is the Gifts To Grow program from Pampers.

Look on the plastic that the Pampers diapers are wrapped in. You should find a little green and white sticker that has a long code on it. This is a code you can enter at Pampers. Make yourself an account, and follow the links to the Gifts To Grow program. Start entering your codes, and watch your points (slowly but surely) accumulate.

Usually 100 points guarantees you something worthwhile to 'purchase' with your points. Everytime I've cashed in mine, I go for the gift cards or the coupon for a package of free diapers. Granted, the prizes do change often, so don't get your hopes up over one specific prize.

The gift cards and coupons are shipped for free. Any of the toys or books you see available cost you shipping and handling. The shipping and handling is on the high side, so, in my opinion, totally not worth it.
