And, guess what? More FREE toothpaste after using a coupon and getting back Register Rewards! And, hey, have enough toothpaste? Well, they've got you covered! Get a FREE toothbrush after coupon and Register Rewards, too!

Does Walgreens have some personal vendetta against halitosis?

I say if you're going for the free toothpaste and toothbrush, might as well buy a couple of the king-sized Butterfinger candy bars that are on sale also, so you have good reason to brush more frequently.

New Kelloggs & Sierra Mist Coupons : Mrs Penny Pincher

I'm getting a bit too excited over cereal lately! But, when you can get name brand cereal for $1.00 or less, I can't help myself! :)

Check out the new printable coupons from Coupons.com. There is a direct link over on the side of the page in the blue box for their website.

They have $1.00 off Kelloggs coupons available now! Wait until Kelloggs goes on sale for $2.00 a box, and you can get cereal for $1.00. Print the coupons, and go use them at Meijer this week where if you buy 10 Kelloggs products you get two free movie tickets. I'll be at Meijer later with coupons in hand. Leave me some cereal please. Specifically Mini Wheats.

Another good coupon I see on Coupons.com is BOGO FREE Sierra Mist!

Don't forget to print two of each! And, yes, you will notice I've used a lot of exclamation points in this post. But, when it comes to getting great coupons that I can get stuff really cheap or free, I've got to exclaim it! :P

**Edited: Won't be pulling peelies off of products anymore! That's the first and last time I do that. Apparently it is wrong, and if I had known that I wouldn't have done it in the first place. So, I hope none of you all have pulled off any peelies! I was up all night last night worrying over this. I'm not a thief or a dishonest person, and really didn't think taking the coupons was wrong.**

Walgreens Register Rewards : Mrs Penny Pincher Kentucky Coupons & Deals

Ok, this is not so much as a 'look at the deal I got at Walgreens' post, but a 'don't try this at Walgreens' post.

I went to use some of my Register Rewards to buy, what else, more things that gave Register Rewards! :) I was going to do the Pepsi products, and the Nivea Body Wash. Of course, they were cleared out of the Nivea, so I went on with my Pepsi plan.

I bought three Pepsi products for $11.00. That gave me a $3.00 RR in return. I also had a fourth item I found on the clearance rack that I couldn't pass up. So, I had FOUR items total.

Since having two young kids kills brain cells (at least that's what I blame it on), I wasn't thinking at all at the checkout. I was determined to pay the entire $16.xx total with Register Rewards. I handed the clerk SIX Register Rewards totaling $16.00. Granted if the clerk was well-trained in Register Rewards and/or coupon acceptance, she would have immediately told me, no, you can't do this. Instead, she scanned four of them with the last two beeping. She mumbled something and slid the last two back to me. I was puzzled, but went ahead and paid the balance. I grabbed my $3 Pepsi RR, and my stuff, and walked out.

As soon as I walked out of the door I realized the dumb mistake I had made:

'THE TOTAL NUMBER OF REGISTER REWARDS AND/OR COUPONS CAN NOT EXCEED HOW MANY ITEMS YOU HAVE!'

If I could have smacked myself on the forehead, I probably would have, but I felt foolish enough for forgetting that rule. I was trying to pay for FOUR items with SIX Register Rewards. I should have paid with FOUR Register Rewards. That is why the last two beeped.

Sigh. :)

Walmart Deals : Mrs Penny Pincher Kentucky Coupons & Deals

I had to get out to grab some diapers today at Walmart before my coupons expired. Of course, while I was there I found a few other things! ;)

Colgate Toothpaste 4.6 oz. $1.00
-$0.75 MQ exp. 5/16/09 - SS 4/26/09
=$0.25

Huggies 16 ct Natural Wipes $1.00
-$1.00 MQ exp. 7/18/09 - SS 4/19/09 (These coupons say ANY Bath & Body Product.)
=FREE

Purina Cat Chow 3.5 lb $3.98
-$3.50 IP from here: Purina
=$0.48

Luvs Diapers $6.97
-$1.00 MQ exp. 4/30/09 - PG 3/15/09
=$5.97 (I figured I was paying approx. $0.12 each for Size 2 diapers, and approx. $0.17 each for Size 4 diapers. I don't think we'll be going back to Pampers unless one of the kids has a really bad reaction to Luvs.)

I bought a few other regular deals of mine with coupons. When the cashier scanned all of my coupons, she looked at me and said, "You have a coupon for every single thing you bought." I just smiled and said, "Yep." Her response, "Interesting..." Interesting? I should have asked her what she meant by that. Maybe she wanted in on my deals. Tee hee.

Kraft Macaroni & Cheese Coupon : Mrs Penny Pincher

Found a link this morning to print a coupon for $1.50 off 2 Kraft Deluxe Macaroni & Cheese or Velveeta Shells & Cheese. This could make for some cheap mac & cheese!

Coupons here: KraftFoods

Be sure to print your limit of two coupons!

I know Walgreens usually puts these mac & cheese boxes on sale 3 for $5. If I remember correctly, Kroger sells them for $1.80 a box. Walmart is about $1.98. And, I think Meijer was around $2.18! Yikes!

Purina Printable Coupon : Mrs Penny Pincher

One of the blogs I follow, http://palmyraboxers.blogspot.com/ , posted a link to print a $3.50 off coupon for Purina Dog or Cat food. If my memory serves me correctly, I think Walmart sells a 3.5 lb bag of Purina pet food for less than $4.00. That could be some really cheap pet food!

Here's the link:

Purina

Now, you do have to fill out a silly survey, and give your email address, but I've done it before and only receive an occasional email newsletter from Purina. Submit your survey, and print your coupon. Don't forget to hit the back button twice so you can print two coupons! :)

And, if you haven't checked out the blog I mentioned above, you need to! She's really good about posting links to free stuff and printable coupons.

Kroger Good Deal Alert : Mrs Penny Pincher

Geez, I almost forgot about posting this!

Kroger has Pedialyte Freezer Pops on markdown for $4.27 a box. Here is the deal I did the other day:

(2) Pedialyte Pops $4.27

-$2.00 MQ exp. 5/30/09 - SS 3/1/09
-$2.00 MQ exp. 5/30/09 - SS 3/1/09 (I had two coupons to use)

PLUS, I got a $1.50 coupon print out at the register to use off my next grocery bill at Kroger! So, that was like paying $3.04 for two boxes! Don't know if any of you have priced Pedialyte or even the off brand versions of it, but that's a great deal!

My Walmart & All You Experience Today : Mrs Penny Pincher Kentucky Coupons & Deals

I must say I thoroughly enjoyed my trip to Walmart today to see the All You booth. I got my free samples from the booth, and signed up for a chance for a mini-vacation. The little old lady that was running the booth was a hoot! I must have stood there for a good thirty minutes speaking with her. She was impressed with my coupon binder, and wanted to learn how to do the deals. She's 72, a widow, and a cancer survivor. She works three jobs to pay her bills, and feed her dog. Despite all that, she has a lovely personality and sense of humor! I wanted to take her home with me! :)

Here are some of the deals I found while at Walmart:

Halls Cough Drops $1.18
-$0.75 MQ exp. 6/30/09 - All You Magazine April
=$0.43

Wheat Thins Artisan Crackers $2.00
-BOGO MQ exp. 5/31/09 - SS 3/15/09
=$2.00 for 2 ($1.00 each)

SoftSoap Bodywash $3.00
-$1.50 MQ exp. 6/30/09 - ReInventing Beauty Magazine April (sold at CVS)
=$1.50

Chef Boyardee $0.88
-$1/4 MQ exp. 7/31/09 (All You Magazine May)
=$2.52 or $0.63 each

Johnson & Johnson First Aid Gauze Pads $1.56
-$3/2 MQ (blinkie coupon someone found and sent me)
=$0.12 for 2

Sunchips $0.88 (snack size)
-$1.00 MQ exp. 5/30/09 - All You Magazine April
=$0.12 Money Maker!

Schick Disposable Razors $1.97
-BOGO MQ exp. 5/17/09 - SS 4/5/09
=$1.97 for 2 packs

More good deal alerts:

PowerAde $0.78
-$0.75/2 MQ exp. 5/8/09 (I found these coupons on a tearpad at ValuMarket in Mt Washington)
=$0.81 for 2

Johnson's Buddies Soap $0.97 (find these in the baby aisle with the baby bath stuff)
-$1.00 MQ exp. 7/30/09 - RP 4/26/09
=$0.03 Money Maker!!

And, I knew I should have written this one down, but in the travel aisle there is Skintimate shaving gel. I didn't purchase any, but I think they are either $0.97 or $1.49. There is a coupon in today's paper for $0.75 off ANY Skintimate. That would make it $0.22 or $0.74.

I keep noticing more and MORE items at Walmart going up in price! What happened with the little smiley head bouncing around dropping prices?

A Few Coupon Questions Answered : Mrs Penny Pincher

You would think couponing would be easy peasy, but there's so much to learn! I'm still learning, but I've come along way in only four months! For one thing, I've got this blog trying to teach others how to save money. Another thing is my well-stocked pantry, closet, and freezer all with items I barely paid anything for! Sweet!

So, here are some questions I'm reading a lot:

Q: What stores take coupons?
A: Kroger, Meijer, Walmart, ValuMarket, Walgreens, CVS, Rite Aid, SaveALot, Dollar General, Family Dollar Store, Target, and KMart (I think that's all of them!)

Q: What stores DO NOT take coupons?
A: Big Lots, Dollar Tree, Sam's Club, and Costco

Q: What stores accept internet printed coupons?
A: Ah, this answer seems to vary depending on each store. I personally have not had any problems at Kroger, Meijer, Walmart, Target, or KMart. I've flat out been told NO at ValuMarket and Dollar General. I've heard some Dollar General stores accept internet coupons. I've also heard of MANY people having trouble with Walmart accepting internet coupons. I've never tried using internet coupons at any of the drug stores, but have been told by couponers they've used them without a problem.

Q: What stores double coupons?
A: Kroger, Meijer, and ValuMarket double coupons up to $0.50 face value everyday. Meaning a $0.50 coupon will double to $1.00; a $0.30 coupon will double to $0.60; a $0.60 coupon will be redeemed for $0.60 (face value).

Meijer will only double two alike coupons. Example: If I am trying to purchase three jars of Ragu, and I have three coupons for $0.30 off, the first two coupons will double. The third coupon will only take off the $0.30.

I've not had limits put on doubling like coupons at Kroger or ValuMarket. That is why those two stores reek of awesomeness. Yes, I just said that. But, seriously, it really stinks having to do multiple transactions at Meijer to use more than two coupons!

Meijer Ad Preview 4/26-5/2 : Mrs Penny Pincher

All You Event @ Walmart : Mrs Penny Pincher Kentucky Coupons & Deals

If you don't get All You magazine at Walmart, you need to! It's full of great money-saving coupons. Sometimes, you even find coupons for free items. I got free Rimmel mascara just last month courtesy of a coupon in the magazine.

They are having an event at participating Walmart stores this weekend from 11:00-5:00 where you can get free samples and tips/ideas. Click on the link for a list of the stores that are hosting the event around our area:

This is a magazine I'm definitely going to get a subscription to. The coupons are great, but I find the articles, tips, ideas, and recipes very worth the affordable price of $2.49, too!

Kmart Double Coupon Matchups 4/19-4/25 : Mrs Penny Pincher

Yeah, so I got suckered in to going to Kmart today. The suspense of the deals I might be missing was too much for me to fight.

So, I made the thirty minute trip there. I spent an hour wandering the store looking at products, prices, and coupons.

Overall, I was not impressed. I remember my mom picking my brother and I up after school years ago, and we'd almost always stop at Kmart afterwards for a snack, and a bit of shopping. Sadly, the Kmart that used to be no longer exists. What is left is a rundown building filled with overpriced items, expired food items on the shelf (that could be a health hazard), lack of floor people, and cashiers who don't give a rip.

However, I found a few deals:

Huggies PullUps $9.99
-$2.00 MQ
-$2.00 doubled
=$5.99 ($0.20 each) Cheaper than Sam's Club.

All Small & Mighty $4.79
-$2.00 MQ (internet printed coupon from a few weeks ago)
-$2.00 doubled
=$0.79 Best deal I found! Bought two because I had two coupons.

Kotex Pantiliners $1.29
-$0.75 MQ
=FREE The coupon did not double. It just adjusted the coupon for the price of the Kotex resulting in no overage given.

Peter Pan Peanut Butter $2.49
-$1.00 MQ (All You Magazine May)
-$1.00 doubled
=$0.49

Pam Cooking Spray $3.49
-$1.00 MQ (All You Magazine May)
-$1.00 doubled
=$1.49

Be forewarned if you do decide to go this week, their 'regular' prices are ridiculously high.

New Kashi Coupons : Mrs Penny Pincher

Do you like Kashi products? If so, check out the coupons.com bar over on the side of the screen. They have several new printable coupons. I just printed out two of the snack bar coupons that I'll intend to use at Walmart or Target making for some cheap snacks!

ValuMarket Coupon Matchups 4/19-4/25 : Mrs Penny Pincher Kentucky Coupons & Deals

I'm being slow posting matchups this week because I'm really just not overly excited about anything I see. Maybe that's a good thing because I could use a bit of a break this week from grocery shopping, especially since hubby is on vacation. Although I think I'm going to go scratch this itch called Kmart today. I'll report back on my trip there later.

This week's ad: ValuMarket4/19-4/25

Remember, ValuMarket does double coupons up to $0.50 face value. And, the one in Mount Washington does NOT take internet printed coupons. And, I'm only posting the BEST bargains I see.

Free Band Aids @ Dollar General : Mrs Penny Pincher

Made several stops today including a price check trip to the local Dollar General. They sell Band Aids for $1.00 a box. They aren't the fancy, cutesy cartoon ones that I personally like, and even as a thirty year old woman have no problem sporting on a boo-boo, but they're FREE! :)

Giving Back : Mrs Penny Pincher

I've got something on my mind that I just can't hold back any longer. Some people might not like it, but I feel led to speak from the heart.

Since starting this whole coupon thing in my household, I feel really proud of myself. As a stay at home mom, I feel like I'm contributing. I'm saving us money. I've started stockpiling so I don't have to pay full price.

This is what bothers me. I see and read of so many people using coupons for free and/or cheap deals so they can RE-SELL the items to make a profit!

Don't get me wrong. I do realize some people must do this to have money for their family, but if you don't need the money, and you definitely don't need a garage full of items you don't intend to use, why don't you donate to those who NEED it?

The economy is bad. People are losing jobs. People are losing their homes. WE can make a difference by giving back.

People don't take us and our couponing seriously. They don't have time. It's too much work. WE know better!

If you are being blessed finding great deals, and you have enough for your family, I ask that you start filling a donation box or two. Give back. Do unto others. Help others in your community, or your own family.

Matthew 25:35-40 (New International Version)

For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.'

"Then the righteous will answer him, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?'

"The King will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.'

Kroger Ad Preview 4/19-4/25 : Mrs Penny Pincher

For the real diehards, our region's ad will be online around 12:08 am. If you're like me, you'll be probably still be up, but chances are I won't be looking at it then because my hubby will be hogging the computer catching up on his writing. :)

If you remember I said that Atlanta's ad is posted on Saturdays (actually Friday after midnight too), and they usually run the same big promo as Kentucky does.

Here's a link to their ad:

So, it looks like we're continuing the 10 for $10 deal. If that is so, after the coupon in tomorrow's Red Plum, we should have FREE Angel Soft toilet paper this week!

Walgreens 4/19-4/25 Ad Preview : Mrs Penny Pincher Kentucky Coupons & Deals

Well, here it is:

Walgreens4/19-4/25

Can't say I see any stellar deals though. Think I'll be skipping Walgreens next week. I might pick up some more shaving gel though. Don't forget, Edge and Skintimate shaving gels are free after Register Rewards! I think that deal ends 4/25, so get them while you can!

The only other deal I might stop for is the 3/$5 Mac and Cheese. No other place sells them that cheap unless I find them at Big Lots. Believe me. I've looked.

It looks very much to be true! Rumor is that there will be an Angel Soft toilet paper coupon in this Sunday's Red Plum insert for $0.50 off a 4 pack or larger. With that said, that means cheap or free toilet paper at Kroger, or free toilet paper at Meijer when they do the Angel Soft 10 for $10 again!

Our region didn't get this coupon. :(

BOGO Purex Coupon : Mrs Penny Pincher

***DEAD DEAL: All of these coupons are gone. Hope you got some while they were available. Printed mine, and already used them!***

Just found out about this deal!

Go to COUPONS , enter in your zip code as 44514, and you should have a Purex Laundry Detergent coupon come up that is BOGO Free! You can print this coupon twice. Pair that coupon up with a BOGO sale, and that means two FREE bottles of laundry detergent!

Don't know why it's only a regional coupon, but I was able to print two. There is nothing on the coupon stating it is only allowed in certain states.

Donations : Mrs Penny Pincher

As of tonight, I've been emailed by a lady at my church concerning a woman with four children all under the age of four whose abusive husband just left her, and she and her children are now on the verge of becoming homeless. I know I can't hand her a check for her mortgage or any bills, but I can give her personal care items, and food.

If any of you have any extra coupons you could send my way, so that I might further help some people in need please email me at mrspennypincher@gmail.com . If you have any extras in your stockpile, especially things for the children that you might be willing to donate, that would be even more appreciated.

Thanks so much, and may God bless.

Kmart Double & Triple Coupons 4/19-4/25 : Mrs Penny Pincher

Ok, latest rumor from Deal Seeking Mom is that Kmart will be doubling maybe even tripling coupons next week! And, supposedly, the Louisville store(s) are included this time?

Here's what Tara from Deal Seeking Mom is saying:

Kmart

I've only heard about this, and have never actually been to a Kmart when a sale like this happens. Of course, I'm not a big Kmart fan either. I don't see how the ones around here even survive.

Anyone been to one of these sales at Kmart? What was your haul? Please leave comments for us enquiring minds.

Walmart & Meijer Savings : Mrs Penny Pincher Kentucky Coupons & Deals

I must confess, I can't stop buying free, money-making mustard and $0.08 salad dressing. Then again, I guess I can stop with the mustard because the sale on it will soon be over, and I'm out of French's Qs.

However, I still have a few Kraft Qs, and, as of today, Walmart is still selling the salad dressing for $1.58. In fact, while I was in the aisle picking up *ahem* a few more today, I ran into another couponer complete with binder! Always fun to find another clipper. She uses http://www.weusecoupons.com/. I'll be checking that out. I think WAVE 3 actually did a story last year on the people that run that site.

Anyway, here's my stash:

Total OOP for what's shown above: $1.98 (plus I got (2) $1.00 Catalinas off my next grocery bill from the French's). If I had purchased the above WITHOUT coupons, I would have paid $38.18! Wow!

And, I got PAID to buy mustard by receiving the (2) $1.00 Catalinas! :D

I'll be taking some dressing to use for salad to be eaten at Easter lunch tomorrow. I hope I have enough.

Kroger Ad Preview : Mrs Penny Pincher

I've yet to run across anyone who has been successful finding a preview of Kroger's ad. However, I have noticed similarities in the Atlanta, GA ad and our region. Atlanta starts their new ad on Saturdays, therefore, you get kind of a sneak peek.

For example, a couple of Saturdays ago, Atlanta's ad showed the $3 off P&G products promo. That was the same promo that started for our region the following day. So, by the looks of Atlanta's ad, I'm guessing we will be having a 10 for $10 sale starting tomorrow. I'm hoping I'm wrong because I don't see anything that I'm too excited about in that sale.

I'm hoping that $0.88 Suave shampoo applies to our region. With my $1/2 Qs, that will make for some really cheap shampoo!

**Had to add, you technically can see a preview of Kentucky's ad. They put it up online at about 12:08 am every Sunday morning. So, if you're up that late, you can take advantage of the 'preview'.**

ValuMarket 4/5 - 4/11 : Mrs Penny Pincher Kentucky Coupons & Deals

Since it seems like no one else matches up ValuMarket deals with coupons, I figured I'd take a whack at it. I've got one here in Bullitt County that I meander through when I find a few good deals. I find that they do seem to have some of the best produce among all of the grocery stores.

ValuMarket does double coupons. The one in Mount Washington does not accept IP coupons. I do not know if that holds true for the other ones.

Here are the deals worth mentioning:

Dozen Eggs BOGO FREE (no reg. price mentioned)

Duncan Hines Cake Mix $0.99
-$0.35 off exp. 5/1/09 - SS 3/29/09

Those are the ones that stand out to me being the absolute best deals. I see a few more decent deals, but I'll have to post them later.

Buying coupons on eBay

One of my favorite ways to get multiples of one coupon is through eBay. This is great to do if you are trying to stockpile, or cash in on a really good sale.

You can purchase coupons usually in sets of 10 or 20. I opt for the 20 as much as possible depending on what the item is.

I usually pay about $2.00 for 20 items. That includes postage.

Every seller I've bought from so far has had immediate turn around time. In many cases, when I know about an upcoming deal, I search for the coupon I need, and have it in plenty of time to use on the sale.

I always look at the seller's other items to see if they have any other coupons I could use. Usually if I buy more than one coupon set, they discount shipping, or send them for free.

This is also a lot easier and cheaper than buying multiple newspapers to get several of the same coupon.

Here's a scenario of what I've just purchased off of eBay:

(20) $1.50 off Kraft Salad Dressing 16 oz. $3.50 + Free Shipping = approx. $0.17 per coupon

I figure this is still a good deal seeing that I'm likely to find dressing for $1.58. This would make my total OOP $0.25 for each dressing I purchase.

(20) $1.00 off 2 Suave Shampoo $1.50 + Free Shipping = approx. $0.07 per coupon

Walmart has Suave for $0.97. Kroger has them for $1.05. Either way, this makes for cheap shampoo that I can add to my donation pile.

(20) $0.50 off Land O Lakes Butter $1.29 + $0.99 Shipping = approx. $0.11 per coupon

With these, I'll be getting some cheap butter at Meijer this week! Cheaper than I can buy it at Sam's. Plus, I've been told you can freeze butter. Guess we shall see! :)

Meijer Ad & Coupon Matchups 4/5-4/11 : Mrs Penny Pincher

Homemade Baby Food : Mrs Penny Pincher

Now that my baby is turning six months old, he's starting to take interest in solids. I decided to go scout out my choices of baby food at different grocers. As I looked through the aisles of baby food, I couldn't imagine paying that much money for a such a little jar!

Thanks to some friends on my Mommy board, I was led to this site:

WholesomeBabyFood

I've been so excited to explore this website! I've already made sweet potatoes for my baby. I buy the family-sized jar of natural, unsweetened applesauce for less than $2.00, and feed both kids from that instead of paying almost $0.50 for a 2 ounce jar. And, yesterday, I mashed a little bit of banana up, mixed it with a little water, and my baby took in every mouthful!

I only wish I knew about this with my first kid! True, you do have to take the time to fix some of the foods, whereas unscrewing a lid off a jar isn't that hard. But, I'll be saving a lot of money, and feeding my baby fresh foods!

Cheap Homemade Lowfat 'Milkshakes' : Mrs Penny Pincher

I decided my blog doesn't have to be completely about coupons, so I thought I'd start sharing some other frugal ways of living. :D

I was having a chocolatey craving tonight after dinner, but didn't need anything fattening. I decided to experiment with some Sugar Free Chocolate Pudding I've got a stockpile of.

I used a small package of the flavored Jello, three cups of Skim milk, and about two tbsps. of light Cool Whip. I put them all in the blender and pressed the mix button.

Two minutes later, I poured my toddler and myself a cup of what very much looked like a milkshake. After a big, long sip, I thought I was actually drinking a real milkshake! It was cold, creamy and chocolatey. Yum! The best parts about it: LOW FAT & LOW SUGAR!

Seeing that there was plenty left, I decided to experiment and pour the leftover milkshake into ice cube trays. I'm hoping that I'll pretty much have miniature Pudding Pops once they set.

UPDATE: Umm, no go on the pudding pops. They were too icy, and not creamy like the ones Bill Cosby used to push. Oh well.
