Fridays With Faith : Angels

I have been re-reading Billy Graham's, 'Angels'. It's amazing to me how much more I enjoy reading and accepting his statements, now that I'm forty-three. I remember when I saw the book in Morehead State University's book store. I was buying my supplies for the upcoming semester. I saw his book and purchased it, too. I had planned to give it to my daddy. I read the book. I remember thinking that it was a good book. However, now that I'm older and have gone through 23 more years of my life.....I can relate to his accounts and how much I lean on his stories!

I remember being small and being locked out of the house and the cement mixer coming closer and closer to me! I was terrified! I cried for my momma to let me in!!! But, she was on the telephone, talking to my Aunt Betty. I really thought I was doomed, then, strong, brown arms lifted me higher and higher. The 'angel' was my beloved Pap-paw Ross. Everyone had forgotten about me. I had been busy swinging on my swing set when Pap-paw Ross,who was a carpenter, was busy overseeing the pouring of the cement floor of the back porch. I tried to enter the kitchen door, the back door, when the driver started to back up to the enclosed addition, which was right where I was standing. The noise of the cement mixer drowned out the cries and screams of the little five year-old. God must have looked down upon me, then, with great love and compassion. My pap-paw stated that he did not know 'why' but he was made to go back to the kitchen door. That is when he saw my great horror and rescued me. I know, now, that God sent him to save me.

Momma, my sister-Cherry, and I would always walk to Salem Church of Christ for the Ladies Missionary Meetings. My momma did not drive and the exercise certainly did not hurt us. In fact, our journeys to the church is one of my happiest memories. Even the dreaded sweat bees of the summer, weren't that horrible. God's Angels really watched over us as we trekked to the church, many times with baked goods. I do not recall ever having any close calls with either animals or people.

When I was a teenager, I constantly tried to be the son that my daddy did not have. I recall having to 'herd' cattle back to our farm from my great-uncle's farm. His fence was not the greatest and my daddy's cattle had traveled over to 'greener pastures'. I knew that I had to help. I really didn't want to but I knew that I was the only choice. I had, nervously, walked all those cattle up the steep hillsides and to the gate entrance. The cattle was skitty and I panted as I climbed the hill to the gate. I knew that just one cow had to buck and all of the cows would run off! All of my efforts would be in vain and my daddy would be disappointed in me. I prayed that God would make the cows enter the gate opening and I would not have any trouble. I sure didn't want my daddy's disapproval, my great-uncle's guffaw's, and even sorer legs! The cows calmed down and every one of them went through the gate. It was so nice!!! I remember standing back and gazing in amazement! God sent those cattle through, I know he did! I remember telling my momma about the situation and she agreed with me that God had made those cows go through the gate.

One night, I forget why, but it was storming and daddy had to have help with the cattle. My momma was frantic! The lightning was vivid and momma was so afraid that we'd be hurt or killed. I knew that I had to help my daddy. I was not brave, by any means, but I tried and helped him. I only recall that his goals were accomplished and my momma's cries to God, were answered. Daddy and I were wet but the storm's destruction had not harmed either him or I.

More recently, when I was diagnosed with M.S., He heard my cries and answered. I was so despondent. I prayed until early in the morning. I remember praying that I needed to feel Him that I needed to know He cared. I really felt that God didn't hear me or care about me! Later, I went to bed. Keith, my husband, rolled over next to me and put his arms around me and gave me a deep, big hug. Then, he rolled back over. A few hours later, it was time for Joshua and Emilie to go to school. I questioned him about the 'hug'. He denied the action. I knew that it was God's answer to my prayer. Just when I needed Him, most, He answered.

High Dollar Nabisco Cracker Coupon

Click here to print out a coupon for $2 off 2 Nabisco cracker products. If they say ANY size, then that means you could use them at one of the drug stores when they put the small size packages on sale for $1.00. So, FREE crackers! I personally don't know what the wording is on the coupon because my printer is out of ink. Boo.

I remember there being a paper coupon for $2 off ANY 2 Nabisco cracker products last spring. I took them to CVS and walked out of there with several boxes of free crackers. I didn't owe anything at the register. I felt like a thief, but the transaction was perfectly legal. Didn't stop my heart from fluttering wondering if security was going to come after me as I left the store with my bag of free crackers.
