Homemade Turkey Sausage

I used to buy turkey sausage from the grocery. I don't anymore. If you check the label, it might be lower in fat, but they've added unnecessary sugar (some include corn syrup). I was so pleasantly surprised to find a yummy recipe to make my own 'homemade' turkey sausage!

2 pounds ground turkey
3/4 teaspoon ground ginger
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1 teaspoon dried sage
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 1/2 teaspoons ground black pepper

In a large bowl, mix together the ground turkey, ginger, salt, sage, cayenne pepper, and black pepper until well blended.

Heat a skillet over medium-high heat, and coat with nonstick cooking spray. Form the turkey sausage into patties, and fry until browned on both sides, and no longer pink in the center. This should take about 15 minutes.

You can also make it into sausage crumbles to use for sausage balls, pizza toppings, etc.

If you like your sausage spicier, just add more pepper!

FREE Libby's Pumpkin Bread Kit at Kroger

As I roamed through Kroger this morning in Mount Washington, I noticed the Manager's Special racks had Libby's Pumpkin Bread Kits marked down to $0.99! Just so happened I had (4) $0.50 off coupons, so I got 4, and there were still a dozen or more still sitting on the rack.

The coupon was from the November 14 Red Plum Sunday paper coupon insert. The cashier will have to manually enter it in because it makes the item free. She said she was afraid she'd get in trouble for doubling the coupon, but I said the ones in charge were the ones who marked it down to $0.99, and they know of the coupons out there, so she shouldn't get in trouble! Plus, the whole point to marking them down from a ridiculous price of $5.99 (not worth that price by ANY means) was to get rid of them!
